Mind Bits
Mind Bits is a free daily set of quick logic puzzles wrapped in a small
space adventure. Every day the whole world gets the exact same set of
challenges, generated from a shared daily seed, so the puzzle you solve
is the same one everyone else is solving that day. Tomorrow always brings
a fresh batch.
You are the lone competent crew member aboard a spaceship that has
opinions about its own maintenance. Each puzzle is a ship system that
needs attention, a course that needs plotting, or an alien defence that
needs outwitting. Solve them, keep your streak alive, and try not to park
in a volcano.
How a day works
The games are grouped into four stages. The first stage holds the four
core games, and finishing those four keeps your daily streak alive. Later
stages unlock once you clear the one before. Within a stage, the order you
tackle the four games does not matter.
The stages
- Ship Maintenance. The core games: Wire Link, Tactical Stack, Quick Mafs, and Chain React.
- Sailors of the Heavens. Plot your course with Tile Slide, Cosmic Harmony, Bit Flip, and Signal Sweep.
- Uncharted Horizons. Survive an alien world with Grid Lock, Trail Blaze, Drone Strike, and Color Code.
- The Final Breach. A single final boss game with levels and real weight, the Matrix, with consumable rewards for winning.
The games
- Wire Link. Connect pairs of coloured terminals on a grid without letting the paths cross.
- Tactical Stack. Sort the ordnance so each rack holds a single colour.
- Quick Mafs. Sixty seconds of rapid mental arithmetic that scales with your accuracy.
- Chain React. Link adjacent numbers into a chain that adds up to a target sum.
- Tile Slide. The classic sliding puzzle, arranging numbered tiles in order.
- Cosmic Harmony. Balance stars and nebulae across a grid with no more than two alike in a row.
- Bit Flip. Turn every light off, where each tap toggles a cell and its neighbours.
- Signal Sweep. Flood the grid into a single colour in as few sweeps as possible.
- Grid Lock. A six by six logic grid where every number appears once per row and column.
- Trail Blaze. Draw one continuous path visiting every cell exactly once.
- Drone Strike. Place one drone per region, row, and column, with none touching.
- Color Code. Crack a hidden four-colour code in ten guesses using feedback pegs.
- Matrix. The final boss. Memorise and replicate patterns that grow harder each level.
Scores and streaks
Each day records two scores: one for your first attempt at each game, and
one for your best attempt. Completing the four core games keeps your streak
going. Beating the final stage can earn consumables such as a Photon Skip
or a Cryosleep Charge to use on later days.
Mind Bits stores your scores, streaks, and progress locally on your own
device, and sends nothing to an external server. Read the
